Workshop and Expert Class: Secularization and Colonial Consciousness in India

During the workshop, the group did a close reading of an article concerning a specific hypothesis on secularization and the cultural migration of ideas. They also related this hypothesis to the research themes of their own PhD dissertations.

On the second day of the workshop, the focus was on the problem of colonial consciousness. Central to this workshop was the theory on colonialism and colonial consciousness developed by Prof. Balagangadhara Rao. In the discussion that followed the expert class, the group of research scholars again considered how this theory could help them develop their own research.
